This last week, Ernie and I hosted our early summer indoor picnic for the group of willing hands from Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby, MN who have helped us string crosses every month since we introduced them to Cross The World in January, 2015. Click HERE to read the original story on them.
This is always a fun time for us and it’s a small way we can show our appreciation to them. This year’s picnic was themed ‘Queen For a Day’ and everyone was provided with tiaras and corsages. Usually, we picnic with about 12 women. This time, we were blessed with a bonus … a gentleman came along who is new to the facility and it didn’t take long for him to fit right in with the group (although for some reason he didn’t want to wear his tiara!). We look forward to seeing him on cross stringing day!
We LOVE this dedicated group of workers soooo much. They are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Each month, they string a little over 2500 crosses for us in an hour and we’re pretty sure they don’t realize they’re even working when they do it … all we hear is chatter and laughter! It’s a grand time and we are oh so thankful that God put this awesome bunch in our lives!
