For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Do not fear, I will help you.”
– Isaiah 41:13
Thank you CTW for the beautiful video. Thank you for what you do. The crosses are simple life changing gifts to so many. I also make crosses and give them away. It is my ministry to make unique crosses to brighten the lives of others. You CTW crosses are such a blessing with the message attached. I love passing them out. God bless you for your cross ministry.

In response to the post “Snowstorms and Angels”, this comment:
What a wonderful example of the anticipation of Jesus, like a snowstorm. I absolutely loved it. I could sense the anxiety in the angels as they waited…such a powerful message! Thank you so much for that! I needed to hear that tonight, as my anxiety was taking over. Now, after reading this, I am quite at peace. Praise God for His wonderful gift of Salvation through Jesus. And may God continue to bless you ALL at Cross The World!

A shout out to you and your service to our Lord Jesus. It was my brother that told me about your crosses. I will be ministering to the homeless, with a cross in my hand to pass them out, with the Holy Spirit guiding me. I am only 3 years in my walk so I’m stepping out in faith and know that God will prevail, because He’s such a loving and good God. So, bless each and every one of you for touching lives in the name of Jesus.

The crosses arrived today and I cannot thank you enough for shipping them so quickly! Am so thankful we have them in time in For Ash Wednesday. Please know how very much we appreciate your wonderful volunteers, and the time and attention you pay to each order. We see God’s hand in all you do. The crosses are so beautiful, as are the smiles, and yes, sometimes the tears, they bring to those who needed a reminder of God’s love at just the right time.

Thanks so much for your ministry. You have helped us share the gospel in so many ways over the past few years. I received my first cross from a friend in IN and have been passing them out since! This order is being delivered to a nursing and rehab facility at Easter. God richly bless you all!

First how I got my cross … my husband was in the hospital, a dear friend was there and she gave me my little wooden cross. It meant so much to me. & this morning, my heart told me to visit a lady in the hospital and give her my little cross. Which I plan to do. But then a thought came to my heart. To make it my way of spreading The Word. (As I am rather inhibited in passing the word on) I realized I can just smile at someone whether I know them or not (especially the ones whom I prefer not to even talk to.) and just simply hand them one of these little crosses. So, I just spoke to my husband and said this is all I want for Christmas. So today, I will go to the library to print the order and send a check to you so that I may bless others, without feeling as if I am pushing my beliefs on others. I am blessed with my little cross. I hope my actions will be a way to bless strangers and even those whom I try to avoid. God Bless You for your Mission. It has touched me deeply.

When I’ve been in pain both emotionally and physically, I think of all the pain Jesus suffered to give me eternal life. Because of Him I can look past the pain into the eternal pain free life He paid the price for me to have. Thank you Jesus my Lord and savior.

While visiting my mother at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, she was given a ‘Cross The World’ cross. We hung it in her hospital room above her bed; it stayed there for 6 months until the day she passed away. That little wooden cross made my mother’s day and wonderful memories for me. The ‘Cross The World’ cross will be a treasured memoir for me.

I am writing to request more crosses. They are needed in our society. I recently gave one to a young lady who began to sob. Someone dear to her had been seriously injured. She was a believer. We stood in the supermarket and prayed together; I gave her more crosses. She was going to try to get one to that injured loved one. You never know what will happen when you give a cross. It is a ‘holy moment’.

I get such a joyful appreciation from people as I hand these out! I handed out the rest of what I had to our congregation at church. The smiles and Joy on their faces moved me deeply. My new order is my third, of many to come. I pass these out to checkout clerks, doctors, nurses, neighbors, and anyone that needs to know that God Loves Them (and that is a lot of people)! Thank you for your unconditional love with each and every cross that is made. You spread God’s love all over Rochelle, Illinois and I can’t thank you all enough. May God continue to bless your work!

We will be using the first 500 crosses of our order as gifts to give out to our Operation Christmas Child Project Leaders Event in early September. We plan to place 10 crosses in each bag for a Project Leader to take to use with their churches. All of these crosses will be going in a shoe box for some happy child to receive somewhere in the world and know that God loves them. Thank you so much for all the hard work you do to make these wonderful gifts we are able to use to share the Gospel Message around the world.

In November I ordered crosses to be distributed at two events:
The first event was a chapel presentation for St. John Lutheran School, Fraser, MI by Rev. Robert Rahn, Founder of the Lutheran Heritage Foundation, Macomb, MI. In the chapel presentation, Rev. Rahn featured the work LHF is doing in the country of Indonesia and the children of St. John Lutheran School collected funds to help pay for a Bible story book that was designed to be taught in schools. Copies of the book were published for distribution in the schools of Indonesia as, in that country, religion is permitted to be taught in the schools. The school children were collecting funds to sponsor copies of the book at $5.00 each. On the date of the presentation, November 10th, Rev. Rahn pointed out there were two birthdays to be celebrated, one was the birth date of Dr. Martin Luther in 1483 and the other was the founding date for the Lutheran Heritage Foundation in 1992. Rev. Rahn told the children that they were not asked to bring a gift because this was a reverse birthday celebration and he was providing the gift of a cross to each student, to be reminded that it was the message of the cross that was being told in the Bible Story book and hopefully reaching the children of Indonesia. Each student and teacher was give one of your crosses for the reverse birthday celebration.
The second event took place on December 3 in Yambio, South Sudan, where 20 men graduated from the Concordia Lutheran Institute for the Holy Ministry. The graduation ceremony involved a one mile march through the community by the graduating class, pastors, congregants and visitors. Dr. Robert Rahn and Dr. Bernard Lutz from America were featured speakers for the event. The presentations were translated from English into Arabic and Zande. Knowing the event was going to be lengthy, I decided to pass out the crosses to the kids in attendance and those standing and watching from the perimeter of the tent that was set up to take care of the overflow crowd. The crosses are certainly going “cross the world.”

Today, I received a cross to hang in my car from a customer and I had just returned from a book store on my lunch break where I was trying to buy a cross for around my car’s rear mirror from the Christian books section. I was bummed they didn’t have any and got a devotional instead. When I came back to work was when this stranger handed me two crosses on strings which made me feel how much God was loving me thru them. That could only have been God! My cup runneth over.

Time has come to order your great crosses again! We at Omaha Baptist are going to try packing Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes at a party for the first time, probably in May or June. I was told that our 402 shoeboxes in 2021 went to Mexico. Please send one Spanish bag and two English ones. Then I’ll have one Spanish message and one English message in each box. Leftover English ones can go in our local welcome bags. Thank you!

These little crosses are wonderful. I first received one at a MN Teen Challenge gala years ago. I have been using them every year for Operation Christmas Child (the shoebox ministry). I put a cross in each box among the other gifts, and I pray for that child to come to faith in Christ. Thank you Cross The World!

This is Pastor John Graham. I’ve been ordering your crosses for many years now, in Canada and now in the USA. They are always a big hit with the congregations. I love it when someone comes and tells me how they gave someone a cross with the message that it is a sign of just how much God loves them. They are great in training/facilitating people to sharing the Good News of the cross of Christ.
This is my way of saying how much I appreciate what you guys do, providing low-cost crosses to give away to the world. Here at Black Forest Lutheran Church we are focused more locally and so we call it “Crossing the Neighborhood”.
God bless you and your husband and anyone else who participates.

Congratulations on your new adventure with Cross the World (Cross The World Goes to Cambodia). I really enjoyed seeing the pictures. Did you have any idea how many people you have touched since you started? To think that it only started with one cross two thousand years ago. Much like your cottage industry one cross , then another starting small now has grown to thousands all over the world. It is a beautiful reminder of God’s love for all of us. Thank you for being so obedient. May God continue to bless His people one cross at a time.

I continue to experience grateful ‘hearts’ as I give a wide variety of people my (your) gift. At a local flower shop, I made a point to hand out some crosses to employees, never expecting the manager wanted one for her son! All the uncertainty today seems to have created a hunger/appreciation for the cross. It is made so beautifully and modestly, they can’t help but like it. Thank you!

On the day I received your cross and the card, passed on from a severely disabled woman, my heart was filled with joy and I felt more blessed in that moment than I have in this entire year that has passed since Covid became part of our daily routine in life. Her name is Tonya. And I am going to pass this cross on like the card says to a wonderful dear friend, a missionary friend of my niece who, since Covid began, has not been allowed to travel back to Los Angeles. Quarantined for the last year. God is with her, and now so will be your cross as a reminder to never lose faith. Thank you whoever you may be for bringing me out of my darkness and back into His light.

I gave a cross to a young butcher at the local supermarket. He thanked me and said he was ‘searching’. I shared testimony with him. He said he was to receive a Bible and I encouraged reading the Gospel of John first. Experiences like this would never happen without a cross from your ministry. Thank you for your fine work. There is obvious love and dignity in the making of the crosses and how they are mailed.

I am enclosing an offering for your Cross The World ministry given to me by a grateful recipient. He was a military fellow I met in the lab at our clinic. I downplayed the money, but he insisted.

Thanks for the thoughts in your well written Christmas newsletter message. I commend you for your work, having some of your crosses still being seen in South Sudan where several years ago we distributed them to Sunday school students. The church in South Sudan, which we helped form is called the Evangelical Lutheran Church of South Sudan/Sudan. It is a growing church with 150 congregations and 140,000 members. They have had a very difficult year with the virus, flooding and the plague of locusts. Our prayers for them and the persecuted church around the world are needed and the message of the cross is the foundation of their hope and ours. A blessed Christmas.

And, this interesting note also from Joy:
In our neighborhood, neighbors bring cookies, etc. to each other. One neighbor brought a tin to us with a cross on it. She said, “You gave this to me and I’ve passed it around. It’s come back to me and I’m giving it back to you. This is what it says “Pass It On”. I was bringing a plate of cookies at that time so I taped it on her plate and kept it going.

I received this cross and the info that came with it while I was in the hospital because of a fall that I had at home which has temporarily taken away from me the use of my legs to stand and walk. This small gift reignited the fire in my soul and spirit to renew my dedication to Jesus and our Father to tell others of His Glorious gift of eternal life for every one who will believe.

Thank you for getting my order of crosses out so promptly. They are stored away ready for when I start packing my Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes. It is so nice to have things ready when I get the boxes together ready to fill them. I wish I could share with everyone the joy a child gets from just a simple small wooden cross. When I was in Uganda a couple of years ago giving out the shoe boxes, one little boy had a wooden cross in his box and he only wanted me to take a photo of him holding up his cross. The rest of the items in the box were not as precious to him and he wanted me to know how he loved his little cross. (Unfortunately it was not a cross that you make but of similar size and design.) It is a great item to send along in this gift box and I appreciate all the work that goes into making and packing these crosses. God is blessing others through what you do.

I received my cross in the mail from my sister. She received it at a physical therapy practice in North Carolina. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to have these crosses to give out at our church’s food ministry. We provide food for those in need in the community. I was a missionary to Ukraine off and on for about 25 years, also spent time in Moldova, and Poland. I recently received a cross from a church called Hope in Westminster, California. I try to go to the Huntington Beach Pier and make myself available for people that pass by either for prayer, or some free Christian materials about the love of Jesus Christ. I also go to various food banks in Orange County. With Resurrection Sunday around the corner, I would love to pass these out to those who desire one.

My friends and I surely appreciate the crosses you make. I give them out to all kinds of people who cross my path and they are almost always appreciated. If not, we can say ‘give it to someone you love’. One such man said he’d give it to his wife who had cancer. I’m assuming it blessed her.
The crosses are such a unique way to lift people’s hearts upward to our Lord. Almost always well received. I give ‘bunches’ to friends to hand out … and they do! Thank you for all that you do to make this ministry possible.

I stumbled over one of these crosses at a funeral for my aunt. I was hoping to have five hundred of them sent to our church so we could pass them out. Thank you for this opportunity and may God continue to serve and to bless you abundantly in the name of Our Risen Savior Jesus Christ.

Thank you for all that you do to make your ministry of passing on the cross possible. Not only are recipients blessed but friends who I give them to are experiencing the joy and satisfaction of sharing them, especially with strangers! Bless you for all you do. The crosses have been such a blessing to so many who have received them. I have given them out to family members at funerals as well as to all of my church members. I make them available to those under counseling as well. Literally anyone who comes in my office.

I originally received about 40 crosses from a friend in Arizona who is an assistant pastor and part-time hospice worker. I found a good home for each cross in California:
-
to a woman who lost her husband, son and daughter in 18 months
-
to each member of my small group Bible study
-
to a woman who lost her son
-
to a doctor who lost his brother
-
to my niece
-
to my 5 year old granddaughter and 1 year old grandson (my granddaughter memorized the words on the hangtag)
-
to homeless people

Amazing story about the Cross the World. I received my cross at the Fredericksburg, TX Cowboy Church that we attend while wintering in Fredericksburg. Someone had ordered them and put them out to share. We are back home in NW Minnesota and so fun to see that they are made right here in Lake Country. I have wanted to order some. This should be the opportune time to do that.

I took a box full of those lovely crosses to our small local Food Pantry where I volunteer. We are not permitted to offer a cross to anyone directly but are allowed to leave the box in plain view so that all can take one or not. At the end of the day, there was only ONE cross left. May God bless you and all you love with His greatest blessings.

Greetings from the Fargo/Moorhead area. There is a very unique ministry thriving in my community and I wanted to share its info with you. It is called Fix It Forward Ministry.
Fix It Forward Ministry is a not-for-profit charity located at Fix It Forward Auto Care (a full-service auto repair facility) in Moorhead. The ministry’s goal is to remove the transportation barrier for needy members of the community and help enable them to be independent and self-sufficient. This goal is accomplished one of two ways: 1) by providing free car repairs to needy individuals, to help keep their vehicles on the road and safe, or 2) by repairing donated vehicles and giving them to needy members in the community who do not have a vehicle or whose vehicle is beyond repair. After hour volunteer labor, discounted parts, and charitable donations cover the costs of repairs.
Anyone in need who receives a car, or repairs to a car, from Fix It Forward Ministry must be referred to them by one of the 30 participating assistance organizations in the Fargo/Moorhead area such as the YWCA, Salvation Army, or Jail Chaplains. In 2018, there were more than 120 cars fixed and 81 placed.
A volunteer from my church, Messiah Lutheran Church in Fargo, details the car before it is sent on its way so it is as clean and fresh as possible. And, this is the exciting part for me … the part where Cross The World gets involved. One of your crosses accompanies a Bible that is placed in each car; together, these give people HOPE. So, thank you, for making it possible to think outside the box to yet another road for the crosses to go to those who need encouragement. I am blessed to play a part in this program; may God bless you as you continue to bless others through your ministries.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas. A special thanks for the 600 crosses we obtained for our Operation Christmas Child shoe box packing party. We were able to pack 843 at our event. God provided crosses for each box as one of my friends worked with ladies at a Care Center to make crosses so we were so happy to have all the crosses to fill each box. May God continue to bless you as you share His love thru your crosses. We have heard a lot of our shoe boxes went to the Philippines carrying your crosses. We are keeping you and your wonderful ministry in our prayers. Merry Christmas!

I really appreciate what you, Ernie, and all who volunteer are doing to reach people around the world with the love of Jesus. Seeing God’s hand in all of this is a beautiful example to me of His great love, and personally brings encouragement as He places things on my heart today in which to share through writing. What He has orchestrated through Cross the World is a reminder to me that He truly does work “all things together for good”. Thank you again for your labor of love. I look forward to meeting you one day.

Thank you for making these available! So far I’ve packed 552 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child this year. As you open each box, there is the wooden cross laying right on top. I lay an open solid color wash cloth over the clothing and toys in the box and then lay the cross on it. It looks so pretty. The ones I ordered are literally traveling around the world.

Yesterday I delivered 200 of the Spanish Crosses and 150 of the English crosses to the catholic church up the road. They have Spanish services on Sunday at noon. Hopefully, the congregation will be able to use the crosses in their ministry and or share them with other locations. I am planning on assisting with the Soup Kitchen for the homeless through All Churches United and will have the crosses available there. Through the crosses, there was a lot of HOPE shared there the last time our church assisted … big burley guys with Harley jackets and torn clothing had tears in their eyes. You never know what others have gone through, but we know Who brought them in that night.

As a hospice chaplain, I can tell you when I hand my terminally ill patients their cross, they clutch it as something more precious than gold. We do not worship the cross but the One who went to the cross for us. It is the message of the cross that has been conveyed to these sweet people and their families that they cling onto. It is the very hope and peace that Jesus brings. Thank you for your ministry and the hearts that are touched by each cross that is handed to someone special in the eyes of our Lord. God bless you and yours!

I need to share the blessing from your obedience as servants doing God’s work. We have one more bible study left for the fall quarter. Each woman in our table group received a cross at their spot today. They were very appreciative. I had taken some extra and told them to feel free to take more and the box is almost empty. Just as the tomb was empty HE is not here, just as HE said. HE is being spread right from here to whomever GOD chooses. It is so exciting. Thank you for your love. In Christ,

The ember story…. I have always had a strong faith….but now I KNOW I don’t want to be that lone ember. I am so blessed that I received your cross and card today. That is a true miracle from Him, I am in recovery from several issues and every single thing I read in your site had to be put there by Him to be found by me today to save me just like I have been praying for, especially last night!!!!! I DO believe I WAS drowning!

A lady at my church gave me the cross and told the story and we knew right away we would like to share the crosses with those who attend my daughter’s wedding in April, 2017. We weren’t going to give out gifts at the wedding, but when we saw the crosses, we knew in our hearts we would be remiss if we didn’t. Their wedding is to glorify God and it is one week before Easter. Thank you for all you do. We feel so blessed.

Several months ago, I purchased 700 crosses from your company. I thought I would let you know where they are going. I am one of the youth leaders at Community Lutheran Church here in Las Vegas. Out youth group has been doing a lot of community outreach. We have a huge number of homeless people here. Our kids came up with the “Matthew Kits” idea and it has been well received by our church. These bags are filled with hygiene products, snacks, a bottle of water, list of services available and maybe a new pair of socks or a new T-shirt. They are handed out to anyone that needs some help. Our congregants welcomed this option because some of them were not comfortable just handing out money. Each bag has one of your crosses in it. Blessings.

I just have to share this wonderful story about how everyone is making God’s love visible, one cross at a time! Recently, I was traveling through Arizona with my bowling friends. We stopped in Oatman to take in the sights and fun of this little historical town. On the way back to the car, I noticed crosses hanging by a building, with a sign that read ‘Please Take!’ Well, because I’ve been passing out Cross The World crosses for over a year or so, I recognized them as the same! After getting into the car to leave, I saw a nice little gentleman carrying the bag that you ship the crosses in. I got out of the car and stopped the gentleman and said, “Excuse me sir, but I thank you for passing on the crosses. I do the same thing in Minnesota!” He gave me a big hug and said, “God bless you!” We thanked each other and parted. I was so excited that I forgot to ask his name or even give him mine! But the girls were so amazed that these crosses do get PASSED ON ALL OVER THE WORLD! Thank you so much for the wonderful work you do making God’s love visible, one cross at a time!

You gave me that wooden cross and I thank you so much for that!! You have no idea of the timing of getting this from you today!! Nearly 2 years ago this coming May, I will have 2 years behind me of being diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer. I had a major surgery at Mayo Clinic to remove the tumor called a Whipple surgery. I go in every 3 months for MRIs and blood work watching a lesion on my liver and making sure it has not yet metastases. I have been having some really good days and some not so good days lately. I anxiously await the appointments at Mayo and this cross brought tears to my eyes!!!!!!! Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for providing the crosses we have used to proclaim Christ tremendous love. This past year we made the crosses into necklaces with a cord necklace and beads of wood and plastic. We gave out 300 in Guatemala while we were there with the HELPS ministry in Huehuetanago. We will take more of them again this March. In June, we passed out 300 cross necklaces at the Monticello Walk and Roll Day. Besides handing out the crosses, prayer was prayed with the people. In February, we presented 50 cross necklaces to the Teen Challenge group who performed at our church. In September, we gave away cross necklaces at The Fall Festival at Faith Lutheran Church. At present, crosses are being made into necklaces for this years Guatemala mission trip.

I just wanted to say thank you for making these! I was recently on vacation in Arizona and Community Lutheran Church in Bullhead City, AZ had hung some of your crosses at a tourist location with a sign saying ‘Free – Take One!’. I just thought that was the neatest thing – it felt like God was saying ‘Hello!’ I brought mine home and showed it to my pastor and our church will probably order some too. I just want to have some to share with people. Thank you again!

Crosses … how to get more. They really work; I’ve been carrying one for a long time. I’ve had several operations this year; I had 4 and one to go. My cross is with me 24/7 and I carry one extra one to give one away. I gave them all away and I needed one last weekend to give one to a friend who needs one badly. I told him to pray each day and I’ve had nurses pray with me before the operation. So prayer works; it makes me feel good also. Please let me know where I can get more crosses; I need to pass them on. Thank You. Prayers are with you always.

First Lutheran Church, Galveston, gave 2 crosses tied together to everyone who came to the Cluster Meeting in August. The Cluster is a meeting (Cluster) of Lutheran Churches in our area – LaMarque, Texas City, Santa Fe, Alvin, Dickinson, and possibly 2 more. We meet twice a year at different Churches in the Cluster. Usually we have a devotional, business meeting, exchange things going on in each Church, take a collection that is given to a needy project in our area and have lunch. We are all in a part of the Gulf Coast Synod of the ELCA. I believe that everyone liked the idea.

It is so gratifying to give your crosses away and see the enthusiasm they create. We recently gave your crosses free to folks who came to our Kingman, AZ church yard sale last weekend, and they were well-received. About three months ago, an arsonist started two church fires in a neighboring town of Dolan Springs, Arizona, and one of the churches burned to the ground. We sent those folks 50 of your crosses to remind them that they still are a “church,” even without their building. My husband and I hope to visit your ministry this summer when we do our normal pilgrimage to Grand Rapids, Minnesota to see family.

Cross the World continues to be my FAVORITE way to witness to people, whether it be family members, friends, or complete strangers. Our church went on a mission trip to Thailand two years ago. One of the children’s most favorite gift to receive were the crosses. It is so nice to explain the significance of the cross to people who have never heard the message.

Jesus breathes His Holy Spirit into us. Through the spirit’s power, when a Christian hugs you, Jesus hugs you. When a Christian prays for you, Jesus prays for you. When you show love and encouragement to others, Jesus expresses his love through you. We do make a difference, one person at a time.

I’m here again to order some more crosses. What a blessing they are! The last ones were for my son and daughter in law. They live in Hastings and spend time with a Spanish speaking church in Minneapolis. They gave them each a cross and they loved it! Thank you and God Bless You!

Two of our members had ordered a couple hundred wooden crosses you have been making for the witness of Jesus Christ. We have been giving these wooden crosses, along with our church brochure, to the neighbors in our community. It has been very positively received.
I am a native of Japan, although I became an American Citizen almost ten years ago. My mother lives in one of the Lutheran retirement facilities in Tokyo and I will be visiting her there at the end of this month. I am going to visit my home church where my family belongs and plan to present these crosses to the congregation. They can share them with visitors and members alike, for them to wear and witness the love of Jesus Christ.
Your ministry is very unique and I can almost feel His love and grace through this wonderful ministry.

She returns on Saturday, August 8th. We can’t wait to hear who they shared the crosses with! Thank you so much!

Hello from Monticello. We had a successful Walk and Roll on Saturday. We gave away 300 cross necklaces using your beautiful crosses. Phyllis and her husband Tim made most of them. What a commitment of love and time to further the cause of Christ. Next year, we hope to do 500 crosses. Pastor and I had a wonderful trip to Guatemala and enjoyed giving away 500 + crosses. We gave away little wooden necklaces and neon plastic cross necklaces plus almost 200 of your crosses made at my house by 13 dedicated people. What a joy and fellowship around making the crosses to give away. I hope to take more along next year when I go. We have a Fall Festival in Sept and hope to give some away then. I know Phyllis has probably already ordered some for that. Thank you again for your love of CHRIST and your ministry of Passing on the Cross of Christ to Cross the World. I am so thankful God has allowed me to be part of doing this. God bless you. I enjoyed your newsletter. Keep up the great ministry.

You may recall I was first introduced to Cross The World at SonShine Music Festival, Summer 2013. At that time, I brought the crosses to a childrens home in Nicaragua. I have been on 6 short term trips to Nicaragua and, most recently, I lived there from June 2014 – February 2015. I am interested in bringing this next box to a community in Nicaragua that I am building a non-profit and child sponsorship program for. Last night, we were awarded with partnership of a non-profit organization. Thank you for listening to the Lord and doing His work.

Last summer our team from St. Michael Lutheran Church in Portage, MI took with them 175 crosses to Lac Brochet, Manitoba to give to the children at Vacation Bible School and others in the community. They were so touched when they received the cross. They live in a very harsh climate and have many difficulties to overcome. Giving people the cross was a special way for us to share God’s love with them. We are going back in April to continue to minister to the people in Lac and encourage them with the gospel. It would be wonderful if we could have more crosses on hand to pass out. Thank you so much for you wonderful ministry. God bless you.

Please accept our sincere thanks for shipping the 500 crosses so promptly. We will be dividing them among our mission groups in our church and we have many:
Nu-2-U monthly clothing give away (150)
Free Monthly Community Dinners (125)
Pastor(s) visits to the sick (30)
Divine Sisterhood Easter baskets for the shut-ins (30)
Congregation (165) for Easter Sunday (160)
I have been looking for something to hand to the people that we care for. Small bibles, printed hand outs just didn’t seem to be what I was looking for, the crosses are perfect. I received mine while at a men’s retreat in Jumonville, PA and knew I had to order them as soon as I got home. As Methodists, we do not have many open and visible means to show our faith and your crosses are perfect. I’m sure we will be in touch next year.

This will make my 4th of 100; all 300 are gone. I should have ordered earlier, but a friend wanted 10 to give to her Bible study group and that took all I had left. No problem if I have to wait … I will just say ‘Jesus loves you and so do I!’ I so love giving the crosses to children! The smile on their faces is a joy! Thank you for all you do to help others ‘come near to God, so He will come near to you’.

Thank you for this wonderful mission of ‘Cross The World’. One day after I gave our WELCA ladies crosses, one of them told me that she had handed hers to a young lady in church. With tears, this young girl thanked her. When I heard this, I know this mission makes people feel wanted. Thank you so much!

I received one of these Crosses on a day when I needed that personal reminder that God does know our hearts and He hears our prayers, that He is sovereign and we can trust Him in all things, that He cares more for us than we understand, that He stands with us in the midst of the fire, the timing of getting this Cross hung on my coffee cup at my desk, while I was away at lunch, only God knew the meaning of the time of day when I came back to my desk and saw this Cross, and my heart then rested in Him. The struggling, hurting and tearing was over and all things were placed in His hands, and there was peace, in His provision, His Son Jesus Christ.
This is His story and we get to be written in it….Jesus yielded all things on the Cross,…and I so often want to take every other route around the Cross,….instead of just going to the Cross and yielding all things (me). I want to thank-you for providing such an amazing way of reminding us, of where to start with God no matter what time of day it is.

Thank you for the experience making crosses at Sonshine. When we returned home we gave crosses to our relatives who like in Breckenridge, CO and Denver, CO. The gift gave us a needed opportunity to remind them of the benefits of being in relationship with Jesus. We will be making crosses at VBS at Riverside Reformed Church in Bloomington, MN. Thank you for the quality pieces to create the cross gift. Your mission is truly awesome!

We handed out 200 crosses to those who are poor and just out of prison at Center of Hope in Sioux Falls, South Dakota during Holy Week. Our guests loved them and always wondered how much they cost. When they were told they were a gift, they asked if they could take a few more for their children and grandchildrens Easter gift. Some of the Natives wanted to do beadwork around the cross. It was a very fun time!

It is a wonderful ministry you have through the crosses. My husband and I were visiting an old mining town in Oatman, AZ while on vacation in NV. Community Lutheran had placed several crosses on a ‘Welcome to Oatman, AZ’ sign with a note to take one.
I did take one and found the words attached to the cross to be so inspirational that I took it to my church’s Evangelism Committee and requested we order some from you. We plan to use them for multiple audiences: new visitors to our church, older members (many shut-ins) to whom I coordinate a Lay Visitation ministry, to our youth (mid and senior high students) in hopes that they will show them to other students and “pass it on”, plus we’re planning on coordinating with our Chamber of Commerce on ways to give them out to visitors to our lovely city, thereby spreading the word out to folks from other cities/states. Hopefully, we will also find a way to get some to the lonely and needy who really need God in their life. Also, we have a Methodist related college here in LaGrange, GA and some may go to selected students there.
And so you can see, I and my church hope to “make God’s love visible one cross at a time” through many of all ages. Thank you so much for the blessing each cross offers. Blessings.

I received my cross at Vacation Bible School at a small church in Spicer, MN. Being a visitor from Montana, I didn’t expect to leave with such a meaningful gift in my hand. You have helped me to remember that the Body of Christ surpasses state and country lines. Thank you and you have a friend in the Rockies.

Just a note to say Jesus has kept me alive, for reasons I am slowly learning, and reasons unknown. In 2007, I went inpatient for bi-polar and anxiety and would not have made it to today. I wish there was some way I could help just one person to understand there is help for this debilitating illness. I take trust in the Lord that when I speak about it, whether I am judged or not, that someone hears there is a way.
We saw your booth at SonShine Fest in Willmar, MN this year and it really touched me that someone would provide crosses. Mine is hanging on my mirror to help driving distances a bit calmer. Thank you!

I work in seniors’ homes as a home health aid. When I was at Sonshine 2013 I picked up crosses for my client and co-workers in one home. They were all blessed and some are still thankful for the meaning of the cross being brought to them. Thank you very much for allowing me to be able to bless these people.

I am a parish nurse at Grace Lutheran Church in MN. What an awesome ministry you are providing! We have been handing out your crosses with every contact we make. Tomorrow in church, we will be collecting donations to support CROSS THE WORLD. I was wondering if you could tell me how many crosses you have distributed so far?
Susan – MN
Susan: Great question … I wish I could give you an exact number but I don’t always write down small quantities that are given out. So, our best guess is around 80,000 … and we think we are a little light on that number!!! Thank you all for being such good foot soldiers!!!
– JoAn (April 17, 2014)
More from Sue: ‘Coins for Heaven’s Sake is a monthly stewardship event at Grace Lutheran Church. Pails are passed around and coins/donations are collected for different ministries. We collected $240.32 for Cross The World. When the check is issued, I will send it with an order for more crosses.
I was first introduced to your ministry at my parish nurse training class. We have given them during home/hospital/nursing home visits, at GLCW and circle meetings, at Cross Training classes, at a Depression Awareness community event. I have had requests from parishioners for them so that they can give to others and now I leave out a basket with a few crosses in the church entry so that they are available at all times. When I retired from the nursing home last December, I gave a cross to each resident and staff member as a visible sign of God’s love.
I believe that the crosses that have been handed out, have had such a positive impact. We want to continue and expand the number of people we are reaching. God bless you and your ministry!.
In God’s love, Sue
Thank you and your church, Sue, for thinking about Cross The World and making such a special donation to our work. It was much appreciated!!

We handed out the crosses Easter 2012 from our Health Ministry. I ordered so many that now we are including them with the prayer shawls that we give out. They have also have been given to nursing home and hospital patients at our health ministry visits. They are appreciated by all. Thank you for your efforts in making God’s work visible.

I just can’t thank you enough for getting my order to me weeks before I expected. Now the youth from our church will be able to take them to Los Angeles where they will do mission work with the homeless and make a connection with them, through our youth, all the way from Minnesota. God is GOOD, all the time. All the time, God is GOOD.
…I will spread the word and help you get going out in the desert. I am going to a Synod Conference in Tucson, AZ next month and plan on telling them about your wonderful ministry. I will also let you know how it goes with the youth in LA and how well the crosses are received. God bless you, may He watch over you and protect you, guide you and fill you with His love and grace.
